Having built quite a reputation shredding Jessica Simpson and her ex-husband Nick Lachey back then, imagine how pumped this tabloid is to have her engaged again! Imagine what shocking betrayals they can have Eric Johnson commit!

If a star is betrayed, and no one buys the issue, is it even true?

Despite the dramatic headline that makes you think Eric cheated, the meat of the story (very lean meat at that) is that she's just "discovered Eric’s secret past."
This runs counter to the main headline, but whatever. The details of what he did that's so bad? He studied how to snag a rich woman. He's a freeloader. Snooze.
Also, she's hot if nothing else, and this is one of the worst Jessica Simpson pictures ever. Why not show some cleave? Or a picture with the betrayer himself?
After they tried to make Jessica pregnant last week, this is two straight bombs, L&S. Do us a favor and step it up next week. Third time's the charm, baby.

Report: Aretha Franklin Has Pancreatic Cancer

After a mystery illness prompted her to cancel all upcoming events and undergo surgery last week, Aretha Franklin offered very few details to the media.
Now reports say the Queen of Soul is suffering from pancreatic cancer.
A source familiar with the situation told The Detroit News about Franklin's condition. Detroit's Fox 2 news also attributing that information to a relative.

Aretha Franklin has not confirmed reports of her diagnosis.

The National Enquirer posted a story on the music legend's reported illness earlier, prompting some of the speculation regarding the Queen of Soul.
Last month, Franklin announced she was canceling all concerts and appearances through May on the orders of her doctors, but did not elaborate.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson said Wednesday that he's visited with Franklin four or five times recently and said she is "recovering very well" from surgery.
He says the 68-year-old Franklin takes daily walks up and down the hall of her hospital, and that her spirits "are high and her faith is strong."
Hopefully she recovers swiftly and fully from whatever ails her.

American Idol to Make Like Big Brother?

A pair of new judges and the elimination of the top 24 round is reportedly not enough change for American Idol.
The show is contemplating something much bigger.
As detailed by The Hollywood Reporter, producers are emphasizing the theme of "transparency" this season. As such, they are seriously thinking about going all Big Brother on viewers: filming the interactions of finalists that reside together in a Los Angeles home.

Other changes being considered: allowing the contestants to use Twitter throughout the season; taking the finalists on a road trip to Las Vegas and somehow integrating them with Cirque du Soleil's Beatles-inspired show.

But let's get back to the concept of an American Idol top 12 house. Think this is a good idea?

Luke Scott Slams Barack Obama, Hopes to Slug .600

Barack Obama likely won't be selecting Baltimore Orioles first baseman Luke Scott in his baseball fantasy draft next season.
The power-hitting lefty gave a lengthy interview to Yahoo today in which he touched on the topics of hunting, guns... and the integrity of President Obama.
"Obama does not represent America," Scott said. "Nor does he represent anything what our forefathers stood for. This country is built on an attitude. It's a way of life. It's not because you're born here. It's not that you're supposed to take from those who have and give to those who haven't. That kills a country. It killed Russia."

Even if it were about being born here, Scott believes Obama would not be representative of the country, saying:

"[Obama] was not born here. That's my belief. I was born here. If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, 'See? Look! Here it is. Here it is.' The man has dodged everything."

Ronni Chasen Murderer Acted Alone, Police Conclude

The Ronni Chasen murder case is nearly closed.
Chasen, a Hollywood publicist, was gunned down on November 16, shortly after leaving a premiere party in honor of the film Burlesque.

On December 1, ballistics tests matched the gun Harold Martin Smith used to kill himself with the one used to kill Chasin.
This evidence, combined with a neighbor who claimed Smith had bragged about murdering Chasen, led police to believe a professional hit was put on the publicist. But a subsequent investigation has authorities stating otherwise.
Det. Sgt. Mike Publicker said cops think this was a "random act of violence," a case of a "robbery gone bad."
"Interviews we've conducted lead us to believe [Smith] was in a desperate point in his life," Publicker added. "We believe he intended to rob her. We don't believe he was a paid hitman."
Beverly Hills Police Chief David Snowden repeated this sentiment in a press conference with reporters this afternoon. He said the investigation remains open, however, and is approximately 60-70 percent complete.

Alex Rodriguez and Cameron Diaz: Back On?

A month after parting ways, are Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez back on? It looks like it after they were spotted getting cozy over dinner in West Hollywood.
"They looked super couple-y," an insider told Us about the actress and New York Yankees slugger. "Cameron was holding his hand and kept nuzzling him."
Friends say the reconciliation shouldn't come as a surprise.

CAMROD: Are Rodriguez and Diaz back together?

"They break up and get back together all the time," notes a source close to Diaz and A-Rod, who parted ways in October because "they needed some space."
Maybe they got too much space and couldn't resist each other?
While the actress was recently linked with Glee star Matthew Morrison - the two hung out at L.A. lounge Bardot - that fling has since sizzled, so stay tuned!
